Well it finally came the 26th of November, my birthday the day where i turn 23 (yes I am indeed that old).
It stared as a very nice day my BF came up and woke me up with a nice breakfest and 8 gifts 8D (holy moly) last time i got that many gifts was when I was a little girl, hahah
Enygays, the morning started nicely but I've been sick for a long time now (coughing, snot, wommiting) adn so suddenly I had to barf and my BF told me that I was indeed not going to school, but I had to stay home under the blanket. It's really fustrating getting that message mostley because my careers advisor told me to go to school for a whole month without eny truancy... You see in a danish shcool the teachers keep track of a students truancy, if it's too high then they take a nice looong talk with you 'bout why it's so high and then you have to sign a study activation contract to make sure you keep you promis... *sigh* for my sake i've been ill alot, and I can't help it, the problem is i'm to scared to talk to my careers advisor about it here on the 1st of December. I've tried SO hard to have NO truancy this month and i've manage all the way to the 16th-17th where i cought a flue of some sort... I have to go to the doctor today at 2:30, hopefully he'll tell me that i have... i don't know pneumonia or somthing so that I can show my carrer advisor a note from my doctor on WHY I have been sick... Many students tend to call in sick, just to get a day of shcool and that puts us who ARE sick in a bad position... So yeah... i'm scared... because i've been sick and couldn't do enything about it .___.

Okay, enough with the gloomy feelings THANKSGIVING!!!! Oh how i've been waiting for thsi day, yes Thanksgiving and my birthday is on the same day oh joy and celebrations
I have to bake som cake for the NFL group (we are roughly 8 danish people sitting every sunday at a friends house watching Football through GamePass )
So i'm like a child on christmas!!! Can't WAIT to get some relly yummy food, great friends around me and yummy dessert X3

Oh one thing i would like to talk about... Danish christmas.
You see the danish christmas isn't like the american. For an example we don't open our gifts at christmas morning in the 25th we do it on the night of the 24th, because those who are christian belive that that was the night when Jesus was born. I myself don't celebrate christmas because Jesus was born since i'm not christian... I do it becasue of my religion where we call it Yule Tide (if you haven't noticed it allready I belive in the Nordic gods; Odin, Lokee, Thor, Freja etc)but I also do it because of my family, my parrents are divorced but I still love chirtsmas, sure it fells like there is somthing missing but i enjoy my evening with them
This year I'm going to spend Christmas eve at my farthers house, next year my BF and his mother and the year after that at my moms house Fo me christmas isn't about the presents, god, or having the neatest tree... It's about love, sharing and being with the people you love. Christmas has become so capitalistic always trying to outdo last years christmas with even more expensive gifts and decorations.... Nah... don't bother... I have a granny who is 76 years old and she gives me and my two younger sisters a pair of home made socks and a 100 kroner bill (Around $20,27) and you know what? It makes me happy because I KNOW she made it with love for me and all her other grand children
Christmas in Denmark is very traditional, almost every family has their own little tradions but all in all we all share some of the same trades. In MY familie we get roasted pork with crisp skin, yellow boiled potatos, brown gravy, pickled red cabbage, sugar coated potatos, danish meatballs (frikadeller) and a form of danish sausage. I'm telling you thsi it's a FEAST
During the day on the 24th us kids help out cleaning and serring the dinner table, at around 12:00 - 14:00 we take ALL the presents and put the under the Christmas tree so that it's ready for the evening. They we all dress up nicely and just sit and talk or watch TV. When dinner is ready around 18:00-19:00 we sit down as a family and eat a wonderful meal And as mentioned befor there is ALOT of food to eat according to danish standards. When the food is eaten (or we are full) us kids clear the tale and washes the dishes and puts them in the dish washer. Not it's time to just sit back and relax, small talking and just sharing the christmas spirit. After a wile (mostley an hour) we get the dessert !Ris a la mande! (rise pudding with hot cherry sauce). You see this dessert is a traditional danish desert, though the name is french :3 And almost every family in Denmark has the tradition of "finding the almond" game ;D.
The hostess or host of the dinner takes the Ris a la mande and puts ind a skinned almond, and the it is up to people to eat until one has found the almond, the one who finds the almond gets an almond-presten, normally somthing every can ejoy, like a box of chocolates or a board game

Everythign is now eaten and the left overs are in the frigde, now (again) we just sit and talk, and enjoys some christmas candy (normally self made; in danish called jule-guf). Now it's time to dance around the tree, i know i know, dance around the tree? Yes dance... not like boogy or moonwalk just a nice peppey rund around the tree first one way then the other, while singing christmas carols
After a couple of songs we sit down and now it's time for presents (YIAY PRESENTS).
In my family we pick one of us kids every year (starting with the oldest, me!!! down to the youngest) to pick one presetn, tell who it's from and whom it's to, and give the present to the person it belongs to. We wait till the gift is inwrapped and choose a new gift
This can take som hours, but we enjoy it
Christmas eve normally stops around 1-2 in the morning and then it is time to say good night and good christmas. For now on 1,2 and 3 christmas day it's time for the christmas lunches where we eat.. again (phew, so much food XP) It's also a danish tradition and is similar to the Christmas eve meal, only there here we normally eat the cold buffet (kolde bord) which is a buffet af all sorts of different kinds of things you put on a piece of ryebread and eat; Harring, fish-filet, hot liver pate with chrispy bacon, danish meatballs etc. It normally starts with the hot dishes first, almost the same kind of dishes as the Christmas meal, then the cold buffet, then dessert (guess what Ris Al La Mande ;D) and they snacks (chocolates, cakes, hard candy)... and then we have "Pakke-spillet" (the gift game) where we all ditch ind with 3-4 small gifts to a rather low price. The two people get a cup each with a dice in. every time you roll a 6 or a 1 you get to choose a gift from the pile on the middle of the table. When all the gifts are gone, you are now allowed to "steal" ONE gift from whomever you choose, but ONLY if you roll a 6. When the unknow time is up theose with no presents gets one from one who already has to many
